All-Star Games MEMORIAL DAY !
The All-Star Games will be Memorial Day, 05/28. Division Commissioners will be visiting your games over the next couple of weeks to conduct the voting. The players from each team choose their all-stars (4 from each team; 5 from Softball Green and Softball Blue) in a private vote with the Division Commissioner in which no player may vote for himself/herself.

Composite Bats Banned In All Baseball Divisions
Latest news from Little League: Nike bat model #Aero CX2-BT0636 has been deemed non-compliant.
Little League International has determined to ban composite bats from all baseball divisions, effective for the spring season. Therefore, composite bats will not be permitted in any L.M.L.L. baseball division (T-Ball, Baseball Gold, Baseball Green, Baseball Blue, Baseball Majors; Softball divisions are not affected) unless approved by Little League. Bats with barrels that are all wood or aluminum metal/alloy continue to be permitted (even if they have composite materials in the handle and/or cap) as long as they meet the other Little League performance standards. Composite bats are usually, though not always, marked or marketed as "composite", having "carbon nanotube technology" or something similar, whereas alloy-barrelled bats are frequently marked "alloy" - if you can't tell, you can try checking the manufacturer's web site. Note that a bat with a "Little League Approved" seal could still be a composite-barrelled bat and therefore banned.
Certain composite-barrelled bats have been approved for Little League play - a current list is available at L.L. approved composites, and this list is being updated fairly frequently by Little League as it tests bats, so if you have a composite-barrelled bat not on the list you may want to check back later to see if it gets approved. There is also a list of metal/alloy bats which have been approved by Little League at L.L. approved non-woods. Bats on that list are not composite-barrelled and meet all Little League performance standards, but just because a bat is not on the list doesn't mean it doesn't qualify - the list may not include some current models nor does it have all past models, so it is probably most useful for quickly and easily checking to see if an older bat is ok. In summary, a bat is permitted to be used in an L.M.L.L. baseball division if:
(1) it is on the Little League approved composite bat list at L.L. approved composites
OR
(2) it is on the Little League approved metal/alloy bat list at L.L. approved non-woods
OR
(3) it has a barrel made entirely of wood or aluminum metal/alloy (NOT composite materials - if unsure, check with the manufacturer)
AND it either has a "Little League Approved" seal OR it meets Little League performance requirements (max. 33 inches long, max. 2-1/4 barrel diameter, max. Batting Performance Factor (BPF) 1.15)

The Daniel Marcus Sportsmanship Awards are presented each spring season to a 12 year old player in Baseball Majors and a 12 year old player in Softball Majors who have demonstrated sportsmanship, teamwork and maturity during their Little League careers. The awards honor the memory of Daniel J. Marcus (1985-1998), a former player in our league. The Daniel Marcus Sportsmanship Awards are the only individual player achievements recognized by L.M.L.L. Congratulations to this past year's winners, and to all of our past recipients.
