Kickball - (non-competitive) There is one co-ed Kickball division open to all boys and girls in Pre-K and Kindergarten. Players must be at least baseball age 4 (i.e. 4 years old by 04/30/2012). There will be no tryouts or coaches draft for this division. Players will be assigned to teams by the Division Commissioner, and may request to be assigned with a couple of friends. Attendance at weekend games is expected of all players and coaches in this division. No scores or standings will be recorded.

T-Ball - (non-competitive / instructional) There is one co-ed T-Ball division open to all boys and girls in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Players must be at least baseball age 5 (i.e. 5 years old by 04/30/2012). There will be no tryouts or coaches draft for this division. Players will be assigned to teams by the Division Commissioner, and may request to be assigned with a couple of friends. Attendance at weekend clinics and games is expected of all players and coaches in this division. No scores or standings will be recorded.

Baseball Gold - (instructional / limited competition) Open to all boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grade. Players must be at least baseball age 6 (i.e. 6 years old by 04/30/2012), and all 1st graders must have played at least one year of T-Ball (or similar experience). 3rd graders who are baseball age 8 may choose to play in Baseball Gold, but are strongly encouraged to play in Baseball Green. There will be no tryouts or coaches draft for this division. Players will be assigned to teams by the Division Commissioner, and may request to be assigned with a couple of friends. All 2nd grade 8 year olds who register for the "Baseball Draft" and are not drafted into the Baseball Green division will be assigned to teams in this division (and may request at registration to be assigned with a couple of friends if they are assigned to Baseball Gold). Coaches pitch. The season begins with short clinics followed by games, and limited competitive play, such as 3-out innings, swinging strike outs and keeping score, is introduced gradually during the season. Attendance at weekend clinics and games and weekly practices is expected of all players and coaches in this division.

2012 transition rule: 2012 Kindergarteners who played T-Ball in 2011 may elect to play in Baseball Gold, but are strongly encouraged to consider playing T-Ball as it is more developmentally appropriate and due to numbers they may not be able to be placed with other Kindergarteners in Baseball Gold.

Competitive divisions: To register for the competitive divisions below, the player should register for "Baseball Draft" and after tryouts will be drafted into the appropriate division by a coaches draft. Players may not select a specific competitive division nor request placement with other players. In all competitive divisions, games and practices are held on weekends and weekday afternoons, players pitch, balls and strikes are called, and all teams make the playoffs.

Baseball Green - (introductory competitive division) Open to all boys and girls baseball ages 8, 9 and 10. Tryouts and a coaches draft will be held to fill team rosters. All 9 and 10 year olds not drafted into the Baseball Blue division, and all 3rd grade 8 year olds who register for the "Baseball Draft", will be drafted here. 2nd grade 8 year olds not drafted here will be assigned to Baseball Gold. A 2nd grade 8 year old who does not attend the tryouts may not be drafted in this division.

Baseball Blue - (competitive division) Open to all boys and girls baseball ages 9, 10 and 11. Tryouts and a coaches draft will be held to fill team rosters. All 11 year olds not drafted into the Baseball Majors division will be drafted here. Most 10 year olds will be drafted here. A limited number of 9 year olds will be drafted here. A 9 year old who does not attend the tryouts may not be drafted in this division. Limited base stealing is introduced.

Baseball Majors - (competitive division) Open to all boys and girls baseball ages 10, 11 and 12. Tryouts and a coaches draft will be held to fill team rosters. All 12 year olds will be drafted here. All 2nd grade girls who are not drafted to play in the Softball Green division will be assigned to teams in this division. Players and coaches will participate in a multi-week League-sponsored clinic, run by professional instructors, who will teach core skills and supervise structured scrimmages. During non-clinic weeks, games will be played between teams. Coaches will pitch, supervise and umpire those games and scores and standings will not be recorded by the League. Attendance at weekend clinics and games and weekly practices is expected of all players and coaches in this division.

Softball Blue - (competitive division) Open to girls in 5th grade, girls in 4th grade, and a limited number of girls in 3rd grade who qualify to "play up" to fill available slots. To qualify, a 3rd grade girl must request to "play up" at registration or at the skills evaluation, attend the skills evaluation, and be selected by a team in the draft for an available slot. Games will consist of the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association (W.P.B.A. 10U) fall season play and playoffs. This team can expect to play up to 15 games on weekend days in September and October.

Baseball Travel 11 Fall - Open to selected advanced players age 11 who have played with L.M.L.L. during the spring and summer seasons. Also open to a very limited number of players who did not play with L.M.L.L. during the summer season. There will likely be one team. Games will consist of the Rockland Baseball Association (R.B.A. 11U 50/70) fall season play and playoffs. This team can expect to play up to 15 games on weekend days in September and October.

Baseball Travel 12 Fall - Open to selected advanced players age 12 who have played with L.M.L.L. during the spring and summer seasons. Also open to a very limited number of players who did not play with L.M.L.L. during the summer season. There will likely be one team. Games will consist of the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association (W.P.B.A. 12+) fall season play and playoffs. "12+" games will be played on regulation size baseball fields in preparation for Babe Ruth play. This team can expect to play up to 15 games on weekend days in September and October.

2012 Divisions - L.M.B.R.L. Baseball

Babe Ruth Rec 13 - Open to all players age 13. This is our recreational division for players of all abilities. We form Larchmont-Mamaroneck teams to play in the Westchester Sound Shore Spring Baseball League (W.S.S.S.B.) during the spring season.

Babe Ruth Rec 14/15 - Open to all players age 14 and 15. This is our recreational division for players of all abilities. We form Larchmont-Mamaroneck teams to play in the Westchester Sound Shore Spring Baseball League (W.S.S.S.B.) during the spring season.

Babe Ruth Rec 16/17 - Open to all players age 16 and 17. This is our recreational division for players of all abilities. We form Larchmont-Mamaroneck teams to play in the Westchester Sound Shore Spring Baseball League (W.S.S.S.B.) during the spring season.

Note:  All ages referred to above are baseball ages.

2012 Divisions - L.M.B.R.L. Softball

Babe Ruth Softball Spring - The Larchmont Mamaroneck Babe Ruth League provides girls with the opportunity to continue to play recreational softball in a fun environment after they have “aged out” of the Little League program. This division is open to girls age 13 through 18 (e.g. 12th to 8th grades). The League we play in includes teams from other communities, such as the New Rochelle Babe Ruth League (N.R.B.R.L.).

In this division there is no tryout; the League assigns players to competitively balanced teams. To foster the recreational goals of this program, players are permitted and encouraged to request to be assigned with a couple of friends. The League will honor as many requests as possible.

Games are scheduled on weekends (generally on Saturday and Sunday afternoons). Team practices are encouraged, but optional. Any team practices are “open” to all registered players and coaches in the division. Standings are kept to establish seeds in a season ending tournament.

Babe Ruth Softball 14 Summer - Open to selected advanced girls age 13 and 14 who have played with L.M.B.R.L. during the spring season in the Babe Ruth Softball Spring division. There will likely be one team. Games will consist of the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association / Softball (W.P.B.A. 14U South) summer season play and playoffs, and selected local tournaments. This team can expect to play up to 20 games during a 5 week season from approximately 06/23 through 07/29.

Babe Ruth Softball 16 Summer - Open to selected advanced girls age 15 and 16 who have played with L.M.B.R.L. during the spring season in the Babe Ruth Softball Spring division. There will likely be one team. Games will consist of the Westchester Putnam Baseball Association / Softball (W.P.B.A. 16U South) summer season play and playoffs, and selected local tournaments. This team can expect to play up to 20 games during a 5 week season from approximately 06/23 through 07/29.
